Every month we look for new picture books. Sometimes we find old favorites and other times we find new ones we just grow to love. We still love looking at picture books.
We always have a mix of books and where we find them. Some are on trips to different places and others might be from bookstores that we stop in.
I love that picture books are always fun and so many great ideas for them. This month is a mix of library and bookstore books we found.
As always there are links to Amazon for the books so you can read more about the books and some have sample pages you can look at.
The Skunk: A Picture Book is a fun book about a skunk that is following a man. It is a fun journey of where that skunk follows him. I love the ending and the colors they used in the book.
Quiet is by Tomie dePaola who is a favorite author at our house. I love this book because it shows how things go when everyone is rushing and how we all need quiet time. A time that we just slow down. I like how you see all these animals and part of earth busy and then you see when they slow down.
Crash, Splash, or Moo! is about a set of daredevels and their stunts. And you get to be part of the guessing. Each stunt they ask you which it will be. I love the silliness of the book and how fun it is to read and guess.
Go Sleep in Your Own Bed is about how each animal goes to bed to find some other animal in their bed and sends them off to get in their own bed. I loved seeing all the farm animals in the odd places.
Titanosaur: Discovering the World’s Largest Dinosaur is great book for dinosaur lovers. I love hearing about how the dinosaurs bones were found. Plus the story of how they took them out. I love that there are real facts about dinosaurs and paleontologiest in the book along with the story. The end of the book has some real pictures from the find as well. We loved reading this book.
A Big Mooncake for Little Star is a story about the phases of the moon told in a fun and different way! I love the way they bake the mooncake and how she eats it just a little each night. I love seeing all the phaes of the moon!
