Every month we have a fun adventure looking for picture books. Yes, my older two still read pictures books. I know they are 11 and 9 and some tell me they should be reading just chapter books. But I have to see there are some amazing picture books that all ages can read.
As always my girls have each picked out some of their favorite books from the month plus some that I liked as well. Each of the books is fun and enjoyable to read. Plus each month varies as to what books we pick. It is always fun to see what new books we can find.
Sometimes we visit the bookstore and get a few books as well. It is fun to change what books we look at.
As always each of the books has a link to Amazon where you can check out more details, and any sales got to help keep 3 Dinosaurs going!
If You’re Happy And You Know It is a book we loved moving with. This has some fun movements to do for the animals. Plus you can do the movements while reading the book. We love book and gross motor activities!
101 Reasons Why I’m Not Taking a Bath is great with all the ideas of why he can’t take a bath. I love the commetns about marker on hands as my favorite! You will have fun laughing while reading this book…but wait the end is just as fun!
We Found a Hat is book in a series and we have loved all the hats. What do you do when there is only one hat and two turtles? I love how the book is set in parts. So you can see where things change and move to something different but always coming back to the hat.
Blue Whale Blues is a book about a whale that is having problems with his bike and his friend penguin is helping him out! I fun they have…but is that really a bike?
There next few books came from a challenge I gave my girls to find a book with the moon in the title. We went over the WHOLE library and founds loads, but these were their favorites.
Armstrong: The Adventurous Journey of a Mouse to the Moon is a beautiful book about going to the moon for one mouse. I love all the pages in this book. There is text to read but loads of pages to just look at. It was so well put together. It is a story that space lovers will love.
Follow the Moon Home: A Tale of One Idea, Twenty Kids, and a Hundred Sea Turtles is about a new girl that moves to town and the school is looking for a problem to solve as a class. She searches all over and can’t find any. But while at the beach she learns about the turtles nesting area. I love what we learn about the turtles and that kids can make a difference.
The Mouse and the Moon is a book about a mouse that his only friend is the moon. He tries to get close to the moon so he can talk to it. And guess what the mouse finds the moon on a pond. I love the story and the surprise for mouse at the end!
