Color Butterfly Collage Craft

A recent trip to an art museum left us with some fun ideas for crafts. My girls saw a piece in passing that they just wanted to try at home. The collage was made from cut outs. They wanted to try it with our butterfly punch!

We have really enjoyed our butterfly punch. It has been a fun way to make some fun hands on crafts and activities.

We used 6 different colors and did this project as a group craft project. Everyone got to have some part in directing what would happen to it.

What you need for this activity: pencil, Martha Stewart Crafts Large Punch, Monarch Butterfly, construction paper, pencil and glue.

We started the project by making some lines on the paper of what we wanted our patterns to look like.

We put glue all over the paper. We used foam brushes to apply the glue to the paper.

Next was the fun part. We started putting the butterflies on. This was tons of fun. We did spaced out and then close together at the end of the project. The girls loved doing project and do did I.

It was also fun to see the that butterflies did not all sit flat on the paper. Some of the wings where up off the paper. It added a fun 3D effect to the project.
