Sensory play is always important to have. On some of the long summer days that get a little too hot to be outside. I want to have something inside for my girls to do.
We do sensory bins just for that. This is simple and easy to put together. It also makes a great beach themed activity.
We love sensory bins during the summer. They are great to have and use. Plus they give us some fun during the hot days.
And when you can’t get to the beach this is a great way to have fun with shells.
This is a great addition to the Beach & Ocean activities on the site.
What you will need for this sensory bin:

How we Used this Sensory Bin
We love playing through the sensory bins and just having fun with them. We do tons of just open play with these bins.
One of our favorite activities is the scoop and poor. And it is fun because you can change up the different shells to see how much rice you get. It is a great way to work in some fine motor while you hold the small shells.
Another fun activity that we did was to fill the big shells with rice by using the smaller shells. We counting how many shells it took. It was fun to see the differences in the sizes of shells and how many scoops it would be.
This is just one simple way to play with the bin. There are so many open-ended ways to play.
