As kids get older, they start learning different types of word combinations when learning to read. Trigraphs are something you build off of blends. It is when you have three consonants together. It is an older elementary learning to read lessons. I know that my girls love to have a few hands-on activities with reading.
With it being spring I thought some fun trigraph puzzles would be fun since spring is a trigraph word.
This printable is a part of the 6 Days of Spring Printables.
Trigraphs can be tricky and different for a lot of kids. But simple things like hands-on puzzles can make them fun. I know that my girls love to learn more when I can change up how they are learning the trigraphs.
I put the trigraph letters on one side and the matching pictures on the other side for them to play the matching game. It is easy for the kids to see plus makes a great literacy center for them.
Each of the flowers comes together to make a fun matching puzzle. Each of the pictures matches perfectly with what the trigraph word is. Like “spr” matches up with the spring picture.
