10+ Hanukkah Books

These are some of the Hanukkah books that we have or have borrowed from the library. My girls love to have books read to them. They also like to see new books all the time. I thought it would be fun to share some of the books we are using in this next week.

My First Chanukah is a fun board book by Tomie dePaula. It simply goes through each of the items for Hanukkah.

Ultimate Sticker Book: Hanukkah (Ultimate Sticker Books) is similar to the board book but you get to put stickers on the book and then read it. It is fun and something you can read later.

Sammy Spider’s First Hanukkah (Sammy Spider’s First Books) is fun book with colored candles and dreidels. You also learn counting for each night.

The Story of Hanukkah is the story of the Maccabee’s and the story of the oil and how it lasted 8 nights. It also talks about how Jews celebrate Hanukkah all over the world.

Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins is a fun book about the lighting of the candles and celebrating Hanukkah when Holiday hating Goblins don’t want them to celebrate. I love stories by Eric Kimmel. They are always fun and creative!

The Hanukkah Hop! is a fun sing song type book about having fun while celebrating Hanukkah. It shows different parts that we celebrate during Hanukkah.

Maccabee!: The Story of Hanukkah has a great ryhming in telling the story of gaining their freedom back from the Greeks. It is about remembering a great miracle happened here when the oil burned for eight days instead of one. This is also about remembering the freedom to celebrate how they want.

Eight Winter Nights: A Family Hanukkah Book is a great book with small poems for each part of Hanukkah. Each night has a different poem and something fun to learn.

How Do Dinosaurs Say Happy Chanukah? is a great story about Dinosaurs and how they should behave on Hanukkah. I love all the series of these type of books. It is great to show them what to do and not to do.

Dinosaur On Hanukkah is a great way of telling about each part of Hanukkah with Dinosaurs. My girls love dinosaur books. Something fun for early learners that are into dinosaurs.

These below are not being sold but you can find used copies or get them at the library.

My First Hanukkah Board Book is a typcial DK Book. It has all the items from Hanukkah in a simple way with great pictures. It covers the story of the Maccabee’s, Hanukkah Food, Dreidel, and the Menorah.
