Using Hands On Math

In most of the packs you will find Math Pages that have, Addition, Subtraction, Counting, Greater Than/Less Than. They come with numbers, items to count in each of the packs. The Hands On Math pages are basic Math Pages that don’t go with a theme that can be used at any time. Here is just one of the ways we use the Math Pages.

What you need for the Hands On Math Activity

How we did the activity

I put small addition cards in the buttons. She pulls out a card and does the addition on the card on the Math Addition Page.

She finds the right numbers for the card. We used the number buttons for it. They are great for hands-on learning.

Then she puts the buttons in the correct spot in the gumball machine.

As Rose complete the each of the small cards, she makes a pile to the side.

When the activity is over I review the cards that she pulled out in flash card drills. This is a fun way to make the activity an independent study of math and a sensory bin activity at the same time.
