The book we read with this activity is A Place for Butterflies . It is great book for learning about some of the butterflies in the North America. These butterflies are amazing to read about. There is even one butterfly that needs burned forests! Who would have known. We talked about that a lot of butterflies need flowers.

This painting project is about butterflies and the flowers they need. This was a great extension to our activity. We also made a trip to the Butterfly Place as apart of our learning about butterflies. We saw many different stages of butterflies and moths. We saw how each butterfly might visit different flowers and plants.

Each of the girls has an idea of what they want to do for this project. They picked out the cookie cutters they would use and making to share all of them. They would have to be patient if the one they wanted was not available.
