Hands-on Learning With Free Shape Playdough Mats
Shapes are fun to work on. I love having hands-on ideas for shapes. It makes it so much fun to learn with them.
After we have the shape coloring pages the playdough mats were the next step. These give you a hands-on shape learning center that can be used over and over.
I love that playdough mats help build fine motor skills while learning. Plus it is almost like playing making the playdough snakes for the mats.

What is a playdough mat?
A playdough mat is something that you use to build kinds of fine motor skills. these just happen the be shape play dough mats.

The shape playdough mats are simple and easy to set up and use. Each shape mat has one shape with two lines around for kids to use for the playdough area.
They are simple with just the shape word, shape in the middle, and a small image of the shape as well. I like to either laminate

There is never just one way to use a printable! I like to show a few ways that they can be fun for kids!

The most basic way to use the play dough shape mats is with playdough
Shape Playdough Mat With Tracing
If you want to try some tracing you can have kids trace between the lines. I have it in a sheet protector and have them trace with dry erase markers
Shape Playdough Mat With Objects
Another way is to use objects to outline the shape. We use the Wild About Animals Jungle Counters

What an awesome idea this is! What kid doesn’t love play dough!? I love the idea of teaching something by using something they love playing with.
I was a little disappointed in trying to download these – there’s an ad to the right with a big green button that says “Download” – my kids are going crazy around me, so of course being distracted I clicked it and now my Firefox is all messed up! Not your fault, but do you have control over the ads on your blog?
Sorry I don’t have any control over the ads that are displayed and every person sees something different.

I am trying to get your awesome shape mats to a little smaller size but they are password locked when I try to open them in Photoshop and I wondered if you would give me the password so I can shrink the cards down to fit 4 on a page? For my personal use only of course. Thanks again for making fun things for our children!
Sorry I wont give out the passwords for any of the printables. They are locked for a reason and because of the terms of use for the images I use. You can print them 4 per page in Adobe Reader.
