Learning the Alphabet and handwriting go hand in hand. I love that you can learn the letters and then work into writing the letters.
There are many different ways to work on this. I have had several favorites you can use for it. We love the ABC Tracing Letters pages.
And I love changing things up. And tracing cards are one way to do that. So today I have some new free ABC Tracing Cards for you to use!
This printable is a part of my subscriber library. You can click here to subscribe to get access to the page.
These are a great reusable set of cards for learning the ABCs. You can start with one letter and work up to all 26 letters of the alphabet. It all depends on what you are learning.
It is a fun way for kids in PreK and Kindergarten to work on their letters.
There are two types of cards. They both come in uppercase and lowercase options. There is a space in the corner to punch the cards out to put on rings for both types. I recommend printing these on cardstock and laminating to last longer.
The first set just has the letters on them. You are going to fix 6 cards on a page. This allows you to just trace letters.
The second type of card has a picture with the letter. Uppercase and lowercase have the same picture to help kids see that they go together. There are 4 cards on a page.
Things to use with these cards
- white cardstock
- color cardstock
- stardust cardstock
- laminating pouches
- dry erase markers
- 1 inch ring
- hole punch
Ways to use these ABC Tracing Cards
The first thing to know is that I printed our alphabet tracing letters on color cardstock. I love changing things up. And kids don’t always like white. I love to change these for the seasons as well. So you can pick colors that work best for you.
You can only use the letters you need. So you can put just uppercase and lowercase together. or maybe just the case that you are working on. I know that we all learn letters in different orders. You can see that I have the uppercase and lowercase for the letter A on a ring.
These sets are really fun to use with dry erase markers. They can trace the letters over and over this way. You can have them trace just the letters they are working on or the whole set!
After they trace the letters let them use a q-tip to take off the lines they traced. It adds a little extra fine motor work!
You can use these as mini playdough mats. Kids can make tiny lines with playdough and place them on the letters. It is another way to reuse the cards.
You can use small hands-on objects as well. Mini erasers are perfect for this. We get a lot of our mini erasers at Target.
