The Butterfly Place & Butterfly Books!

The Butterfly Place & Books

I love to take the girls to the Butterfly Place. They love it there. I did a trip review of it last year.. We have taken two trips this year already. Both trips we saw and did different things. You never know what you will see on a trip there.

Out first trip we saw a lot of different caterpillars and the painted ladies. The area was very open and you could see the mini quail running around. You had to watch you step for them. There small tropical birds were flying around as well. It was open and you saw a lot of the area. The fish pond was easy for all of them to see into.

We went close to the end of the day and saw a lot of the butterfly resting. There was some nice flowers put in the room. We were told someone was having a wedding that day. While in our hour stay they turned up the heat and the butterflies started to move. It was great to see. The girls loved it.

On our second trip we compared the group of the flower bushes and the butterflies that we saw. We asked if they had any Atlas Moths yet, but did they not have any hatch yet. The hatching area was full of fun surprises. The girls loved seeing the monarch caterpillars. It was great to see so many different changes. We also watch a butterfly hatch in the containment area.

Inside was also a lot different. We had a different selection of butterflies flying around. The girls love that. The mini quail were harder to see but still moving around. We found out that the quail already had some eggs and were getting ready for the next set.

The real surprise of the visit was Rose saying a butterfly looked like it was going to lay some eggs. It is something she has wanted to see for a while. But I was not sure it was going to happen. Sure enough it did. We got to watch a Owl Butterfly lay three eggs. It was amazing to watch. The butterfly’s wing were shaking a lot during the whole process and wrinkled a bit. The girls just loved to watch it. They got almost everyone in the room to come watch. It was something they will always remember. If we had not had the second trip we would have missed it.
