This is a great addition to the winter activities on the site.

I was asked to do a round up of the winter books that I’ll be using for my Winter Pack. The Winter Pack will be out on January 4th. Royal Baloo will also be putting out a Snowman Pack that day.

There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow! (There Was An Old Lady) by Lucille Colandro, is what the pack will be based around. It is part of the There was an Old Lady series. These are fun books and lots of fun learning.

Snow (Sunburst Books) by Uri Shulevitz is a story about a city and how it become covered in snow.

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is an adventures of a boy out in the snow. It gives kids great ideas of what they can do in the snow.

Snow by P.D. Eastman and Roy Mc Kie is about great adventure book in the snow. It explores some of the equipment you can use to play in the snow with.

Let It Snow by Maryann Cocca-Leffler cover all the weather items. It also has some of the things you do in winter. It cover a lot of great words.

No Two Alike by Keith Baker compares how no two things are a like. It shows in winter who things can be almost alike but different.

Snowy Day (Picture Books) Anna Milbourne Another great book about exploring outside.

The Three Snow Bears by Jan Brett is a retelling of Goldie Locks and the Three bears but in snow time. It is fun and explores some of the animals you find in the snow.

There are a few other books that I’ll use with the pack as well, but these will be the main ones.

  1. We have and love every one of those except for the Keith Baker one. I’ll have to go look at the library.

Another great book is A.A. Milne’s “Tiddley Pom” poem, which was made into a book by itself with some lovely illustrations. My sidekick learned the poem about a year ago and still recites it every time we see flakes. 🙂
