I love doing activities with buttons and seasonal buttons make it so much fun! I found several great Halloween themed buttons at Michael’s, JoAnn’s and AC Moore. It has been a few days of lots of activities with them. <\/p>\n

\n<\/a><\/div>\n

This is a simple activity to set up and use. The buttons came in four colors and three different sizes. This makes it great for various activities. You are going to find two different activities in this post. They are fun simple and easy.<\/p>\n

Sorting Spider Buttons by Color<\/h2>\n

Sorting by color is a simple and easy activity you can do with any type of button, beads, or foam stickers. I love that I can find so many different hands on materials to use. This makes doing the activities fun and not always something that looks repetitive.<\/p>\n

What you need: tray, container for sorting and spider buttons.<\/p>\n

This is a great skill because it makes things think about what color and where the color goes. Every now and then I like to go over and turn the tray she is sorting the colors in to see if she is paying attention. This is easy to do with any type of button or color sorting. Mary enjoys this activity because it is fun and different when you add different items to it. She likes to play with the spiders as they go to the correct bin. She had the bins named for what flavor of spider they were.<\/p>\n

Sorting Spider Buttons by Size<\/h2>\n

I always follow up color by size. I love that these types of buttons coming in 3 different sizes. This can be difficult right after sorting by color but makes them think about what they are doing.<\/p>\n

What you need: tray, sorting paper (found in many of the printable packs<\/a>) and spider buttons.<\/p>\n

We always start out putting at least one of each size out on the paper. I’ll ask her to get a “large spider” and put it where it goes. She loves to find the sizes for the first few. We did this sorting on her tummy to build stomach muscles and help with some of her wiggles. Keep it fun and easy. She only did about 8 for each section and then declared herself done. She still had fun learning something.<\/p>\n
