In the journey of learning ABC matching upper and lower case is very important. I love that there are so many different ways you can do it! There is not just one way to do it. <\/p>\n

You should know I tried to do this activity with my youngest once before we really did it. She got upset and stomped out of the room. She told me no more activities. You have to go with the flow and never force something they don’t want to do. If they say no, let them not do it. Never make them feel they have to do something or guilt them into doing it. And yes I have been guilty of that. With that said…on to the activity that we did after watching LeapFrog: Letter Factory<\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n

What you need: paper and Melissa & Doug Magnetic Wooden Alphabet<\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n

To start with I broke the ABC into two set. Then gave her the paper with one set of upper case out of order. She wanted to put them in order, but we did work on just doing the activity with it out of order.<\/p>\n

While they are matching the upper and lower case ask them about the sounds that the letter makes. If you are doing this with an older child ask them to saw a word that starts with the letter.<\/p>\n

We did two different sets of for this activity. It was loads of fun and after Mary did it she just had to make sure she made her name from the letters!<\/p>\n
