It was a snow day and the girls were bored. We had finished one activity and asked if they could do some catapults with the pompoms. I was not about to say no, but hey why not have some fun with them.<\/p>\n

This is simple and easy activity to do. It does not take much to do it. Plus a lot of materials can be found in most houses really easy! We had so much fun that we will be doing it again for many days to come!<\/p>\n

What you need for this paper roll activity<\/h2>\n
  • pompoms<\/a>\"\" (could also use cotton balls)<\/li>\n
  • big spoon<\/li>\n
  • paper roll<\/li>\n
  • making tape<\/a>\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    How we did this activity<\/h2>\n

    We placed the spoon on the paper roll. After several tests we taped the spoon where it would get the move distance.<\/p>\n

    We taped the spoon to the roll with masking tape. We did make several different adjustments as we went.<\/p>\n

    Then we let the fun being. We had to learn that to much strength pushing down would crush the paper roll or fling the roll somewhere else. We all had to learn just the right amount on pressure would work. We did learn that larger spoons that were lighter worked better. <\/p>\n

    After we got a few things figured out we just had lots of fun with this! We pulled out some egg cartons at one time to get them a target and used tape lines to see if they could shoot the pompom straight at the line.<\/p>\n

    The girls made a game called “Can You Launch the Pompom All the Way Over You?” It took them a while to get it perfected but they LOVED doing it. Every time they got it they got up and danced around and tried it again. They had to learn how low to be tot he ground and how much pressure to use and how far away, so that the spoon did not hit them.<\/p>\n

    At the end we did a few launches using our feet.<\/p>\n

    This was a perfect snow day activity and we plan to use it again, well today!<\/p>\n
