<\/div>\nThe Shape Button Sensory Bin is a great addition to the shape activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n The Shape Button sensory bin is a simple sensory bin featuring different sizes of shape buttons and rice as filler. You can also use cups and tweezers with the sensory bin.<\/p>\n The different sizes and shapes of buttons make it fun for kids to use.<\/p>\n We love buttons and this sensory bin was about learning sizes and colors. There were two different sizes of buttons in the bin. And there are loads of different colors. It should not be about what we want to do to explore the bin. They are a sensory experience not a set planned learning time.<\/p>\n One of the first things she did was see what button could scoop up the most rice. She then worked out putting rice into the cup using the button. She did it until the cup was full. She then dumped the rice out and started over doing the same activity.<\/p>\n She also did a lot of pouring from one cup to another cup. It is the reason I put two cups in the bin. yes this can make a mess but it is fun sensory play for them.<\/p>\n After she played a while she then started to tell me some of the shapes that were in the bin.<\/p>\n Then she looked at what buttons would fit in the cups. She found that the big ones would not fit and filled the cup with small buttons.<\/p>\n I do every now and then add something for them to do outside of the bin, if I think she would like it.<\/p>\n The last activity we did was to sort the buttons by small and big. She would either use her hand or the cup and scoop up buttons and then sort them on the paper.<\/p>\n I did have a sheet with colors on it, but she decided she was done and did not want to do it. Later I did find her with the sheet doing the activity, but did not have my camera. She loves to play with the buttons.<\/p>\n At the end I always try and remember that sensory bins are for sensory play. And if all they do is play in the sensory bin that is okay. But you can work on shape names, size and color in this fun shape button sensory bin.<\/p>\n Wood Bead Sensory Bin<\/a> is a sensory bin filled with wood beads and great for fine motor play with a pipe cleaner for threading the beads.<\/p>\n ABC Sensory Bin<\/a> is a great way to explore letters. You have alphabet buttons and alphabet letter tiles for the filler. It is fun to search for letters in this sensory bin.<\/p>\n Number Sensory Bin<\/a> has number button, and number tiles that kids can use. You can find certain numbers and put numbers in order or just have a fun sensory bin that kids can use. You can always do this sensory bin with kids one number in the bin.<\/p>\n Button Sensory Bin<\/a> is a sensory bin just filled with buttons that kids can use the scoop, pour and thread.
