Folktales are a lot of fun to learn about. There are so many to pick from. My girls really liked the Little Red Hen. Our activity this month for Poppins Book Nook was for this folktale. <\/p>\n

What I like about the story of the Little Red Hen is that you learn that you have to do hard work for something to happen. You can’t just sit around and do nothing and get something. We have been studying the Little Red Hen for a bit. I have a FREE Little Red Hen Pack<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We read The Little Red Hen (Little Golden Book)<\/a>\"\". We have several different copies of the book but this is the one we used.<\/p>\n

What you need: a foam brush, paints (yellow & brown), fork and paper.<\/p>\n

\"Wheat<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

They painted the stalks of the wheat using foam brushes. We used the side of the brush so that it had a point at the top.<\/p>\n

They then used the fork at a slight angle to make the wheat at the stop of the stalks.<\/p>\n

They painted the ground under the wheat stalks.<\/p>\n
