\n<\/div>\nThe Pirate Sensory Bin is a great addition to the pirate activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n The pirate sensory bin is great for a pirate theme or talk like a pirate day. Their favorite was the ship.<\/p>\n Once we had all the pirates and their items out we looked at the coins. They sorted out some of the coins and talked about their names. We looked at quarters and pennies this time.<\/p>\n You can ask them to give you certain coins as well. We looked for each type of coin on the sensory bins.<\/p>\n Don’t forget that the most important part of a sensory bin is just letting them play. The girls liked to pour coins and rice from hands to hands to the bin. As always I love to keep bins around for a week so I can see how they play with each item.
