We read the book From Caterpillar to Butterfly<\/a>. Then we took a trip to The Butterfly Place<\/a>. We also read the book again when we got home and reviewed what we saw while we were visiting.<\/p>\n

The Butterfly Place<\/h2>\n

The Butterfly Place<\/a> is a great indoor area to look and see butterflies flying around! You can learn a lot in a small amount of time. If you have one in your area I encourage you to take a look at it.<\/p>\n

Painting Butterflies<\/h2>\n

One thing we noticed while we visited was that the butterflies have the same pattern on both wings. We did this fun painting activity to recreate that effect at home.<\/p>\n

What you need: papers with a butterfly pattern on them folded in half, paints, water bowl, paint tray, paint brush.<\/p>\n

The girls painted one side of the butterfly.<\/p>\n

Then they closed the butterfly to apply the paint to the other side.<\/p>\n

We opened up the butterflies to see what we created.<\/p>\n
