Looking for a way to work on alternating on the stairs. This is a fun way to do it and get them engaged in what they are doing. Plus you get a little gross motor while doing it.<\/p>\n

\nWhat you need: Stairs, different colored socks and toys or items that match the color of the socks.<\/p>\n

We used dinosaur and pink socks.<\/p>\n

The stairs where made into a pattern of dinosaur item then pink item all the way up the stairs.<\/p>\n

The girls go up and down the stairs matching their socks to the pattern on the stairs.<\/p>\n

Then they switch socks on their feet. The reason for changing is that it will not let them get to used to just using the same foot in a pattern. The switch can be hard after you have done the other for a while.<\/p>\n

Then up and down they go again.<\/p>\n

This is a good way to make a gross motor task more fun. As an alternative, I have taped pompoms to the tops of their feet and then matched pompoms. They girls love to gather colored items to match their socks.<\/p>\n
