<\/div>\nThe Apple Sensory Bin is a great addition to the apple activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n The apple sensory bin was a lot about learning that apples come in different colors and learning those colors. You have apples, pony beads, and pipe cleaners. It has a rice filler for this sensory bin.<\/p>\n Before we did the apple sensory bin, we read several books about apples. There are many apple books to pick from but here are some we used: The Apple Pie Tree<\/a>, The Seasons of Arnold’s Apple Tree<\/a> and How Do Apples Grow?<\/a>.<\/p>\n We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n Always make sure what you put in a sensory bin is okay for the age of the child using it.<\/p>\n You will see a few ways that we used the apple sensory bin with kids.<\/p>\n One of my favorite parts about a sensory bin is that you can just explore what is in the for a long time. There are always different ways to explore the items in the bin.<\/p>\n She did some beading and matching the color of the bead to the pipe cleaner. This is a great way to put fine motor in a sensory bin.<\/p>\n After she finished her beading we talked about how many beads where on each string. She put different amounts on each pipe cleaner. We did some counting then we did some adding. We talked about how many more beads we needed to add up to match up to the different amounts.<\/p>\n Next we made some patterns with the apples. I let her pick out the pattern she wanted to do. She did an AABBCC pattern. It was fun to watch her finish it and to repeat the pattern at the end.<\/p>\n We could have done lots of AB patterns and more ABC patterns as well. You can use the apple pattern printable <\/a>to get pattern ideas.<\/p>\n The final activity we did with the apple sensory bin was we sorted the colors out onto papers. We talked about the different sizes of the colors. We also talked about what we could see through and what was opaque. We put one yellow apple on the red paper to see what would happen and talked about the color change.<\/p>\n This is a fun and easy sensory bin. Like all my bins I leave them around for the girls to play with all week. This have full access to it and love to pull them out and play! My girls fed apples to stuff animals and sorted them in different cups and have had hours of fun with it.<\/p>\n Red, Green and Yellow Sensory Bin<\/a> has a red, yellow and green acrylic rocks for the items in the sensory bin. It has a rice filler. It is a great sensory bin for apple color as well.<\/p>\n Torn Paper Apple Trees<\/a> are fun and great for working on the fine motor. You can have them tear up the paper or you do it. Plus they can make their tree how every they want.<\/p>\n Apple Activities Pack<\/a> has over 60 pages of activities and was made to go with the book The Apple Pie Tree<\/a>. This is a great apple printable for preschool.<\/p>\n Apple Dot the Number & Count the Dots<\/a> is a great hands-on mat or no-prep activity with counting. You have a dot marker number and dots to count on the apple.<\/p>\n Apple Counting & Math with Water Beads<\/a> is a great way to see the Apple Math pages in use and how to use them.<\/p>\n Apple Fine Motor Mat Printable<\/a> has four apple fine motor mats to use with kids. You can see several ways to use the mats as well.<\/p>\n Apple Cookie Cutters Painting<\/a> is a great apple painting you can do. And you can use all three colors or just one color.
