Every now and then I get asked how to you use the printables. I thought I would show you a few hands on ways we use the Apple Numbers from the Apple Pack: Math Update<\/a>. These are just a few hands on learning activities that we do.<\/p>\n

What you need: apple number matching<\/a>, red apples<\/a>\"\" and green apples<\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n

The first activity that we did was putting the red apples in order. The red apples have the numbers one them 1, 2, 3 etc.<\/p>\n

Next she matched up the numbers and the number words. We used some number wall cards<\/a> to help with some of this activity. This showed what number words she knew and did not.<\/p>\n

Then we matched up the apples with the black dots on them. She would count the dots and match them up with the correct apples.<\/p>\n

Then we did a hands on matching of apples to the numbers. We used all the apples we had in the house for it. After she finished we counted all the apples again just to make sure we had the right amount.<\/p>\n

When we were done this it what it looked like.<\/p>\n

We then did some fun hands on learning of math and ways to add. We took the red apple and put it at the top. She would pick out two other numbers she thought would add up to that number. We then used the apples from our apple sensory bin<\/a> to make the numbers and then total them up to see if she was right. I also mixed it up and used the yellow with dots and green apples with number words to make the math problems. It was a different way to teach the numbers.<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a non-themed way to do this activity you can use either the 1 to 20 Printables<\/a> for color or Free Busy Bag Printables<\/a>. Then use pom poms<\/a>\"\" for the counting part and math activity.<\/p>\n
