They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don’t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n They are considered simple words that can be used with early readers to help sound out and decode words.<\/p>\n You will find words like ‘cat’. Kids can sound out the letters C A & T. And then blend the sounds to make the CVC word.<\/p>\n Some CVC words that kids learn are bug, map, sat, dog, pot, pan, etc.<\/p>\n I love that these CVC Word Family Wall Cards allow you to show kids a picture of the CVC word family you are working on and matching rhyming words. <\/p>\n These CVC Word Family wall cards are very easy to use. They come 2 cards per page. There is one picture that matches up with each of the CVC words. It is followed by several sets of matching words. There are two columns of words on each card. I printed them out and laminated them all. We will display the card we are working on when we need it. <\/p>\n Plus if they are laminated they work better for kids to use in a word learning center and displaying on the wall.<\/p>\n These are fun for word walls. We put ours on the tri-fold display board<\/a>. You can change this up based on what words you are working on. But they also work great just putting them around the room.<\/p>\n You can be flexible in how you display them.<\/p>\n Another way to use these cards is to make a flipbook. I like to print them on white cardstock<\/a> and laminate<\/a> the cards and then use a 3 hole punch<\/a> on each card. Then a put them on 1 inch ring<\/a>. You can use this book at any time. Because I laminated it will stand up to little hands flipping through the pages.<\/p>\n You can see how easy it is to make a book for working on each CVC word families.<\/p>\n Now if you love the flipbook idea but don’t have to do everything above then here is a suggestion for you! <\/p>\n You print the wall cards on regular paper. Then you fold the paper in half. Making sure that the blank side of the paper is on the inside of the fold.<\/p>\n Then you staple the edges of the paper together. I like to put 4 or 5 staples to make sure it will hold well.<\/p>\n Now you have a fun double-sided book with all the wall cards that kids can flip through and use as their own little book.
