We had a ton of fun. I had a last minute Hanukkah challenge for the girls to be creative with pattern blocks. Kids love having  activities that are last minute with little to no prep involved. This is one of those activities for Hanukkah. It takes less and 2 minutes to put together!<\/p>\n<div align=\"Center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/12-2014\/hanukkahpatternblock.jpg\" alt=\"Hanukkah Pattern Block Fun - 3Dinosaurs.com\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>We read a lot of <a href=\"\/wordpress\/index.php\/hanukkah-books\/\">Hanukkah books<\/a> during Hanukkah. We have done of fun with it! We read the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0823425479\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=0823425479&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=3dinos-20\">The Story of Hanukkah<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=3dinos-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0823425479\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>. It is one of the favorite books for use to read. It tells the story really well. The girls wanted to do something fun and creative. I pulled out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00006JZCG\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B00006JZCG&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=3dinos-20&#038;linkId=SDHTG7WKDYJBHZOK\">pattern blocks<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=3dinos-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B00006JZCG\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> and told them to make some Hanukkah themes with them.<\/p>\n<p>What you need: small Menorah, dreidle and some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00006JZCG\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B00006JZCG&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=3dinos-20&#038;linkId=SDHTG7WKDYJBHZOK\">pattern blocks<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=3dinos-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B00006JZCG\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>.<\/p>\n<div align=\"Center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.3dinosaurs.com\/images\/blog\/12-2014\/hanukkahpatternblock1.jpg\" alt=\"Hanukkah Pattern Block Fun - 3Dinosaurs.com\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The first challenge was to make a menorah from the blocks. I did not give them a pattern or suggest what to use. I just told them to make it and waited to see what they would come up with. All three worked together to make their menorah. It made them think about what they wanted and who thought what was best. It also meant working together on a project. They also pulled out the mini menorah put pattern blocks on for the candles and flames.<\/p>\n<div align=\"Center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/12-2014\/hanukkahpatternblock2.jpg\" alt=\"Hanukkah Pattern Block Fun - 3Dinosaurs.com\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The next challenge was to make a dreidle. Each had their own idea and went right to work on them. Will it be big or small? This was fun to see what they created!<\/p>\n<div align=\"Center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/12-2014\/hanukkahpatternblock3.jpg\" alt=\"Hanukkah Pattern Block Fun - 3Dinosaurs.com\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The last challenge was to make the Hebrew letters on the dreidles.
