I’m really looking forward to this months theme of Poetry. There are so many fun poetry books to read to kids. We have several favorites at our house. We have had some that have been book finds for us as well. My favorite part about poetry is learning the different types and having your kids realize there is more than one type of poem. Then seeing if they see it in books they or I read to them.<\/p>\n

One of our favorite all times poetry books has been Outside Your Window: A First Book of Nature<\/a>\"\". I think we have got it from the library at least 15 times! It has great poem for all 4 seasons. So you can use it often. You can learn about birds or snow. I love how flexible you can be with it. <\/p>\n

A more recent poem book that we really liked was A Stick Is an Excellent Thing: Poems Celebrating Outdoor Play<\/a>\"\". Who does not love playing outside. These are great poems for just that. We did some reading of the poems and then did that style of play. It was great for linking up activities.<\/p>\n

There are so many different poetry books and styles to read. A classic style would be The Real Mother Goose<\/a>\"\". These are some of the first poems we read at time with our kids and we make them fun.<\/p>\n
