I love that every month we look for new books while we are in the virtual book club for kids. This month we knew all three books by Donald Crews<\/a>. We had a hard time picking just one book. We have read all three books.<\/p>\n

I really liked the colors in Freight Train<\/a>\"\". So that is the book we pick this month. We did two different kids of activities for our train. It was fun and interesting to see what would happen.<\/p>\n

What you need for this activity: train cookie cutter<\/a>\"\", watercolor colored pencils<\/a>\"\", oil pastels<\/a>\"\" and a foam brush.<\/p>\n

The first one we did was with watercolor colored pencils<\/a>\"\". She traced the train and made some rectangle boxes.<\/p>\n

Then she used the foam brush and water to push the colors together.<\/p>\n

\"Color<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The second one we repeated the first process of training the train and used the oil pastels<\/a>\"\" for her second train.<\/p>\n

Then she used her finger and smudged the color across the train. We talked about how the colors mixed really easy.<\/p>\n
