<\/div>\nThe American Revolution Sensory Bin is a great addition to the American Revolution ideas<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n This is a simple sensory bin with the blue and red figures for the different sides of the war. A simple and easy to set up sensory bin.<\/p>\n We read the book Heroes of 1776: The Story of the Declaration of Independence<\/a>. It went over some of the basic information about the whole war from start to finish. We talked about who the people were and why they were important. <\/p>\n When we first did this sensory bin we read the book: In 1776 (Scholastic Bookshelf) by Jean Marzollo <\/a>. But it is currently not in print any more. You can find some great books on the American Revolution books<\/a>.<\/p>\n You will see simple ways we used this bin to explore different parts of the way and history.<\/p>\n We talked about the different side of the American Revolution. We talked about the different colors of the figures. that the British arm wore reds so the figures are read. And blue because of color of the Continental Army. <\/p>\n They each took a side they wanted to be on and started to play. <\/p>\n They acted out a few scenes from some of the books and movies that we have read over the past few days. Paul Revere made his famous ride and got caught.<\/p>\n You can also watch the Liberty Kids<\/a>. A Great video series about the American Revolution.<\/p>\n The girls enjoy playing so much that even after the beans were cleaned up from becoming cannonballs, they are still having them march around the room. After they complete one scene they are on to the next. The bin has been a great learning history tool.<\/p>\n Now is you want to just pay in the sensory bin without any learning you can do that! Sensory bins are meant to be played in.<\/p>\n Cotton Ball Wigs<\/a> are a great thing to make for Presidents Day or a revolutionary craft. It is a fun way to learn about something in history.<\/p>\n The American Revolutionary War Pack<\/a> is over 110 pages long and has great information for learning about the war for all ages. It is good for ages 2 to 8 or 9. This pack can be used with Tot, Preschool, Prek, Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade.<\/p>\n American Revolutionary War Easy Reader Book<\/a> is a cute little book for learning names and working on simple sight words. Plus see a few ways we used the book.<\/p>\n Sequencing: Paul Revere’s Ride<\/a> is a fun printable talking about looking for the lights and then starting the ride of Paul Revere to work the country side.<\/p>\n The Yarn American Flag<\/a> is another fun activity to develop fine motor skills and learn about the flag.
