My girls were very excited about this Where the Wild Things Are book activity. We have been having some fun doing activities with Where the Wild Things Are<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Here are some fun gross motor activities to do with the Book Where the Wild Things Are! My girls love doing gross activities. This book was one they wanted to do a gross motor activity for!<\/p>\n

We read through the book Where the Wild Things Are<\/a> first. Then we talked about what movements you could do for different parts. I love involving my girls in the choices that we do. They will come up with a movement that I might not have thought of.<\/p>\n

Where the Wild Things Are Gross Motor Movements<\/h2>\n

A Tree:<\/strong> The girls started small and grew up to a tall tree waving in the breeze.<\/p>\n

The Boat:<\/strong> We did some rowing actions for this.<\/p>\n

Sea Monster:<\/strong> We did swimming on our stomach.<\/p>\n

\"Where<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Claws:<\/strong> We did some swinging arm movements across the body with our claws.<\/p>\n

Rumpus:<\/strong> We did some stomping, jumping, wild dancing, and moving around.<\/p>\n

Swinging in the Trees:<\/strong> We pretended to swing through the trees. We moved from branch to branch around the room.<\/p>\n

Marching through the Forest:<\/strong> We did some high knee marching around the room.
\nWaving:<\/strong> We did some fast and slow waving with our hands.<\/p>\n

Some other movements you could do:<\/strong>
\n– Climbing up a tree: Do movements like you are climbing up a ladder.
\n– Bowing to the monsters: Make really big and small bows.
\n– Create your own monster walk.
\n– Dancing: Most fast, slow and crazy.<\/p>\n
