Bookmarks have been really huge at our house the last little while. They are easy to look at the smaller than some wall cards. Plus they are easy to store on a ring.<\/p>\n

Fractions can be a hard idea to get at first. When you have a visual to look at it can help kids get a better understanding. That is one of the reasons I made these bookmarks. It gives you something to look at while working on fractions.<\/p>\n

The fraction bookmarks are a great addition to the fraction printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n

What are fractions?<\/h2>\n

It is a numerical quantity that is not a whole number. It is also a number divided into equal parts.<\/p>\n

Examples of fractions are 1\/2 or half of a whole number.<\/p>\n

You can see fractions like 1\/4, 1\/5, 1\/6, 1\/8, 1\/10. There are many different fractions that kids can work on.<\/p>\n

Fraction Bookmark Printables<\/h2>\n

There are four fraction bookmarks per page. Each bookmark has the fraction written as a number and a visual of the fraction. The bookmarks have all the fractions for each number. So you will have the parts and the whole in fraction form. That is a good way to see how the fractions grow.<\/p>\n

Fraction Books To Use With the Fraction Bookmarks<\/h2>\n

We have been using A Fraction’s Goal – Parts of a Whole (Math Is Categorical)<\/a> with these bookmarks. I like to have books or something else to go with most printables. This gives them something else to look at as well.<\/p>\n

Ways to Use the Fraction Bookmarks<\/h2>\n

All of the fractions pictures are the same size on each of the bookmarks. That makes it easy to compare different fraction and see how they get bigger, smaller or the same. If a visual learner needs to see a different this can help.<\/p>\n

I have also printed them all on one page and made a cheat sheet for me to help with them. This gives me an easy glance at all the fractions.<\/p>\n

I printed the bookmarks on cardstock<\/a>\"\" and laminated<\/a>\"\" them. I put them on a 2 inch ring<\/a>\"\" for easy storage.<\/p>\n
