So we put together a pink sensory bin to go with the book.<\/p>\n<p>Sensory bins are fun because it is an open play activity while feeding a sensory need. We had not read it before. This happens every now and then. Not often since I really try to read as much to my girls by different authors.<\/p>\n<p>I love how she turns all pink in the book. We talked about what we what pink things we had in the house. The pointed out clothes, hair accessories, beads, buttons, and erasers. You had soft and hard, big and small items. They would scoop up part of the bin in their hands and pour it out again.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/7-2016\/pinksensorybin3.jpg\" alt=\"Pink Themed Sensory Bin - to go with the book Pinkalicious - 3Dinosaurs.com\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>One fun activity they did was take parts of the bin out and stack the gems on the pony beads or the pony beads on the gems. This was a great fine motor activity they created on all their own!<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/7-2016\/pinksensorybin4.jpg\" alt=\"Pink Themed Sensory Bin - to go with the book Pinkalicious - 3Dinosaurs.com\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Another favorite activity in our sensory bins is the scoop and pour activity. They fill up the cup with parts from the sensory bin and then pour it back into the bin. Yes, this makes a HUGE mess but they love it!<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/7-2016\/pinksensorybin5.jpg\" alt=\"Pink Themed Sensory Bin - to go with the book Pinkalicious - 3Dinosaurs.com\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>We pulled out one of each of the pink items from the bin and talked about the different textures of the parts. Soft, smooth, rubbery, hard, fuzzy and any other words they came up with. All three of my girls will play in the sensory bins. This is one where I have pictures of all of them playing in the bin. I never limit an activity to the age of my girls and what people tell me they should be.
