Counting can be one of those hard activities to work on. These mats make counting a lot of fun with a hands-on activity.<\/p>\n

My youngest loves using ten frames for her counting activities. We have been working on it a little bit. I thought I would make some ocean mats to go with our Ocean themed summer we have been having.<\/p>\n

I love the idea of these mats. You can use almost anything when you are counting on these. I love making these hands-on by give them different types of items to count with. We used blue glass gems<\/a>\"\" for the ten frames and ocean counters<\/a>\"\" for count the ocean animals. It is fun to see how creative they can be with their counting.<\/p>\n

Each ocean counting mat has a ten frame and the number in digits and words. This is such a fun way to work on ocean activities. Each number has its own page. One part I like about these is you can print just the number you want to work on.<\/p>\n

Setting up an Ocean Counting Mat<\/h2>\n

I set up the counting mat we are working on and counters<\/a> for the ten frame and mat up to 10 for each. If you have a younger child you can have the exact number you are working on.<\/p>\n
