Every fall we are always doing some fun fall tree craft! It is one of our favorite activities. This year our washi tape fall tree<\/strong> activity was the idea of my 11-year-old. She picked out all the craft items for it, and we made it based on what you wanted us to do. <\/p>\n

Plus this goes with our yearly reading of the book Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf<\/a>\"\". A year does not go by that we have not read the book. This year my oldest read the book to use before the craft.<\/p>\n

It is a great activity for building fine motor skills. I know my older girls spend a lot of time writing, but still need to work on building better fine motor control, so they have better writing. Crafts like this one help with that development and they don’t think of it as work.<\/p>\n

Since this was a craft decided by my oldest, I also took part in making the craft. It was fun to do group crafts together.<\/p>\n

What you need for this activity: white paper, yellow washi tape<\/a>\"\", orange washi tape<\/a>\"\", red washi tape<\/a>\"\", green washi tape<\/a>\"\", and wood grain washi tape<\/a>\"\". (We got ours at Michaels but these are similar colors in the links.).<\/p>\n

The first part we all did was make the tree. It was also a time in learning how to tear the tape. It was not as easy as my girls thought it would be at first. We each picked what our trees would look like. We all had different sizes of trees, and that was what made it fun.<\/p>\n

Next, we put grass under our trees. Everyone had a different idea on how the grass should go. I love seeing how creative they can be.<\/p>\n

Finally, we put the leaves on our trees. Some of the tape was long; some tape was short, but it was fun to see what everyone’s idea of their tree should look like.<\/p>\n
