It seems that people have just loved the different counting mats. I know that my girls always loved to have different themes to work with while learning. It is why it is fun to have different themes to use.<\/p>\n

The free medieval counting mats<\/strong> have a fun knights and princesses theme. I wanted to reach out to both sides with this counting math. I know that some boys just want knights and some girls just want princesses. So I made it available for both genders.<\/p>\n

Plus learning with playdough numbers, ten frames and a building area is loads of fun!<\/p>\n

The counting mats are perfect for kids working on their numbers 1 to 10. They are straightforward and easy to set up and make a great math center for preschool and kindergarten. Plus each one has a ten frame which is a great way for kids to work on the start of math. They also work great for learning ten frames in kindergarten and review for First Grade.<\/p>\n

Each of the counting mats has the number written out, a number for playdough, ten frames and castle background. You can see how I set up each of the mats. I used playdough<\/a>, the knights, princesses and rocks<\/a>. There is a set of just knights and just princesses for those that might want to do those only.<\/p>\n

You could also use the Knight Toob<\/a> and the Days Of Old Toob<\/a> on the counting mats.<\/p>\n

I often laminate<\/a>\"\" the pages if we are going to use them often. But if I’m out of laminating sheets or only using one time, I’ll use a sheet protector<\/a>\"\" on the pages. I might also used the sheet protectors to store them in a 1 inch binder<\/a>. I just put all the pages in the sheet protectors back to back. <\/p>\n

You can see how we placed the rocks<\/a> in the ten frames and the knights and princesses on the mat. My youngest wanted to use both the knights and princesses. She made it so that they matched up to the rows on the ten frames.<\/p>\n
