Counting mats are tons of fun and kids just love them! They have been a huge request on the site. I love how flexible they can be with learning counting.<\/p>\n

It makes counting something fun for kids to do. Plus having seasonal changes makes it fun to do. It can make the same old activity new and different.<\/p>\n

I love how this makes a great addition to the spring printables already on the site.<\/p>\n

The counting mats are perfect for kids working on their numbers 1 to 10. They are straightforward and easy to set up and make a great math center for preschool and kindergarten. Each one has a ten frame which is a great way for kids to work on the start of math. <\/p>\n

Each of the counting mats has the number written out, a number for playdough, ten frames and cloudy sky for the background. You can see how I set up each of the mats. I used playdough<\/a>, the blue glass gems<\/a> and the rain drops. <\/p>\n

You could also use cotton balls in the ten frames and the glass gems<\/a> for the rain drops.<\/p>\n

I often laminate<\/a>\"\" the pages if we are going to use them often. But if I’m out of laminating sheets or only using one time, I’ll use a sheet protector<\/a>\"\" on the pages. I might also used the sheet protectors to store them in a 1 inch binder<\/a>. I just put all the pages in the sheet protectors back to back. <\/p>\n

You can see how we placed the glass gems<\/a> in the ten frames and the rain drops on the mat. We used the playdough to build the number. You could also use the playdough to make the rain drops.<\/p>\n
