It always seems we are working on some type of math fact and division is one we don’t do as much as multiplication. I wanted something fun to do beyond the flashcards<\/a> and spinning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I have a roll and cover for multiplication<\/a> and we loved it. I thought it would be fun to have one for division.<\/p>\n

Plus with it being bug week this works great to have a Bug themed division spin and cover!<\/p>\n

These work similar to the multiplication<\/a> but each page has a spinner on it. The numbers on the spinner match for the division of each number. So if you are working on division by 6 there are only numbers for dividing by six.<\/p>\n

Each page has a bug or insect on it with circles for the numbers 1 to 12. After you do each spin and record the answers you then cover the correct numbers on the bug. <\/p>\n

There are several ways to do this. We are using the In the Garden Critter Counters<\/a>\"\" on them. But you can use other things like counting tokens<\/a>\"\" or dot marker<\/a>\"\".<\/p>\n

I put ours in sheet protectors and put them in a 3 ring binder so we can flip through the different pages for review. You can see below how I set up the pages for them to use. <\/p>\n

You use a pencil (or dry erase marker) and a paperclip to make the spinner. You put the pencil in the center and flick the paperclip to make it spin around.<\/p>\n

There is a part of the page that has for recording your spins. There is twelve space for the 12 numbers on the spinner. That does not mean that you won’t do the number more than once.<\/p>\n

If they are struggling with the division you can add in the division bookmarks<\/a> to help out.<\/p>\n
