I know that my girls have enjoyed several of the hands-on learning printables over the years. Each of them learns a different way. I have enjoyed the challenge that those learning types have created for me.<\/p>\n

Digraphs can be hard but fun too. One of our favorite digraphs is “sh” for shell when we have done beach activities.<\/p>\n

I thought it would be work to work on digraphs and sorting shells for our final beach printable. It is fun and hands-on that some kids just need.<\/p>\n

What is a digraph?<\/h2>\n

A digraph is two letters together that make one sound. Digraphs can be made up of vowels or consonants.<\/p>\n

Some examples of consonant digraphs would be ch-, -ch, -ck, gh, kn-, ph, qu-, sh-, -sh, th-, -th, wh-, and wr-.<\/p>\n

The beach digraphs sorting printable work on the beginning digraphs ch-, sh-, th- and wh-.<\/p>\n

One of our favorite things about the beach is finding shells and putting them in pails. We always look forward to this. I thought for the final beach week printable this would be a fun one to do. You can sort the shells into the correct bucket. That is a fun way to look at this digraph sorting activity<\/p>\n

There are four different buckets for kids to sort the shells to they have the following digraphs: ch-, sh-, th- and wh- on them. They are the beginning digraphs that we are working on. These are some that my girls have worked on in kindergarten and first grade.<\/p>\n

There are 12 different shells with pictures to sort to the buckets. Each of them has a picture of that matches up to the bucket. There are three shells for each bucket.<\/p>\n
