Rhyming is one of those learning to read skills we are always working on. I know that we have been doing tons of reviews of CVC, CVCC and CVCe words the last little while. <\/p>\n

I thought it would be fun to change up the review with some Pumpkin CVC Word Family Rhyming Clip Cards!<\/p>\n

Kids love to have their learning changed up and these will make a great center for the fall.<\/p>\n

Pumpkins are such a great theme for fall. They were for general fall and also with Halloween as well. They are tons of fun to use with learning. Plus this works so nicely with the other pumpkin printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n

I love clip cards because you can use different items to clip them. They are a sneaky way to work in some fine motor skills.<\/p>\n

There are four cards per page. This makes it easy to print and cut up. I laminated<\/a>\"\" our cards and cut them out. I lay out the cards with something to use for the clipping part. I often ask what they wanted to use for the clipping part. This time we use clothes pins<\/a>. You can see below how I set up the cards.<\/p>\n

We have tons of fun going through the cards and clipping the cards that rhyme. First, we said what the picture was. Then she read the words below and pointed out which word matched. We also talked about other words that might rhyme as well. <\/p>\n

You can always pull out the CVC Wall Cards<\/a> or CVC Bookmarks<\/a> to help.<\/p>\n

After you have done some work on the rhyming you can always pull out some paper and write some of the rhyming words that they clipped on the cards. It is a good way to work on sounding out the picture and getting the correct beginning sounds. We used the pumping themed writing paper<\/a>.<\/p>\n
