Each month we look for fun picture books to read. It is fun looking for ones that my other girls will read or just something fun we can all enjoy.<\/p>\n

Picture books are not limited to just the early years of school. I always enjoy the books my 12-year-old picks out each week. It also gives us a fun time to sit and read the books.<\/p>\n

This month we have a collection from the library that we really enjoyed reading. Plus a lot of this month’s books are about authors!<\/p>\n

Fascinating: The Life of Leonard Nimoy<\/a>\"\" is great book for those younger Star Trek fans. This has fun details about Leonard Nimoy grew up and who he was. My old and I enjoyed reading this book together and seeing how he grew up.<\/p>\n

Balderdash!: John Newbery and the Boisterous Birth of Children’s Books<\/a>\"\" is fun to read and learn about what children used to read the birth of children’s books. We loved the different fonts and information you learned in the story. I also like that it shows what kids used to read!<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"\"<\/div>\n

Noah Webster’s Fighting Words<\/a>\"\" is about the creation of the dictionary and his ideas about learning words. It is a fun book with edits and comments in red that were fun to read.<\/p>\n

John Ronald’s Dragons: The Story of J. R. R. Tolkien<\/a>\"\" was a great find for us. We are currently reading the Hobbit and this was something fun to add to our reading. It is always interesting to see how ideas came abou.<\/p>\n

A Boy, a Mouse, and a Spider–The Story of E. B. White<\/a>\"\" is the story about the man behind Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little. It was fun to see how he loved animals when he was younger and how he grew up to be an author.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"\"<\/div>\n

I Want To Be in a Scary Story<\/a>\"\" is about a monter that wants to be in a scary story but is that really what he wants? It is fun to read the dialog in the book and see what happens at the end of the book.<\/p>\n

Imagine That!: How Dr. Seuss Wrote The Cat in the Hat<\/a>\"\" was fun to see how ideas are form for a book. Certainly one of the most famous books around. It was a fun read and we loved it. It talks about how he started writing and the list of words he was given to use. We loved seeing how the ideas all came together.<\/p>\n
