<\/div>\nThe Ant & Kinetic Sand Sensory Bin is a great addition to the bug activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool and kindergarten.<\/p>\n Sensory play is one activity that my girl has always loved. I love having easy to set up sensory play that I don’t have to do much fuss with.<\/p>\n That is what this ant sensory bin is. it is easy to set up and easy to clean up. It just has 3 items for the whole bin. It takes less and a minute for me to put the ant sensory bin all together.<\/p>\n We have been reading the book Are You an Ant? <\/a> with our ant projects. We enjoyed the book.<\/p>\n You might also like this sand playdough<\/a> idea in place of the kinetic sand.<\/p>\n Here are a few ideas to use the ant sensory bin but remember these are just ideas.<\/p>\n One thing I love about the sensory play is that it is simple and fun and kids can do what they want. I love surprising my girls with new bins for them to play in.<\/p>\n Each has their own idea of how to play in the bins.<\/p>\n One activity we did was I buried all the ants under the sand and they dug them out. They made a pile of the ants in the center after they found them.<\/p>\n Something they found fun was to bury all the ants and then make a big ball of the sand and ants and see how many ants they got.<\/p>\n This was great for counting the ants and working their fingers to dig and find the ants.<\/p>\n Another fun activity they found that they liked to do was make impressions of the ants in the sand. I love how this was a fun way to get a deep pressure activity in without them knowing that.<\/p>\n As always remember that sensory play is just that playing. Let kids play and explore the ants and the sand. You have three directions to go and easy to use gross motor dice and speed dice as well.
