Playdough mats have always been one of our favorite way to learn. It has been an activity that we have been using for years and hopes to use playdough for years to come.<\/p>\n

Today I have playdough mats for CVC, CVCC and CVCe words. These are a fun way to add in more words with something fun.<\/p>\n

I love that these mats use so many parts together to help kids learn. I know that kids learn better when they have more ways to work on words. Plus they come in three learning to read areas: CVC, CVCC, and CVCe. These are all words you work on in kindergarten, first and second grade.<\/p>\n

Each of these mats has 4 parts: the picture of the word, the playdough word, trace the word and write the word. So many ways to work on one thing altogether!<\/p>\n

We have laminated the cards to help them last longer and so we have used dry erase markers on them.<\/p>\n

How we have used these mats<\/h2>\n

Here is a look at how I set up the mats. I have playdough and a dry erase marker. I put several of the mats in a stack for them to do.<\/p>\n

The first way to use them is to just use playdough on the mat with tracing. We do this a lot. Now you might just want to do the playdough part. You don’t have to use the whole mat.<\/p>\n

After you have the playdough done you can do the tracing and writing area. This is loads of fun for kids to do. With the cards laminated they can practice this over and over.<\/p>\n

You can use the playdough for filling in with objects. I know that some kids do better with this! We have loads of mini erasers that we use. I grab then for the different seasons and then we can have something different went we want.<\/p>\n

If you want to use these one time only you can print a set of matching word ending. Then cut them in half and make a small book. .They can color the playdough word and is easy to flip through.<\/p>\n
