The Shell and Rice Sensory Bin is a great addition to the Beach & Ocean activities<\/a> and sensory bins<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.<\/p>\n Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.<\/p>\n We love sensory bins during the summer. They are great to have and use. Plus they give us some fun during the hot days.<\/p>\n And when you can\u2019t get to the beach, this is a great way to have fun with shells.<\/p>\n We love playing through the sensory bins and just having fun with them. We do tons of just open play with these bins.<\/p>\n One of our favorite activities is the scoop and poor. And it is fun because you can change up the different shells to see how much rice you get. It is a great way to work in some fine motor while you hold the small shells.<\/p>\n Another fun activity that we did was to fill the big shells with rice by using the smaller shells. We counting how many shells it took. It was fun to see the differences in the sizes of shells and how many scoops it would be.<\/p>\n You can also use the shells to make seashell art for kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is just one simple way to play with the bin.
