This is so that when they see it they know it. It can help speed reading along.<\/p>\n Simply put these are words that are found common in reading. Some examples are: like, and, can, go here, and come. They might not be easy to decode or don\u2019t follow pattern simple sounding out patterns.<\/p>\n There are many different lists that you can get for sight words. Some of these sight word lists are Dolch Sight Word lists and Fry Sight Word Lists.<\/p>\n What I really love about these cards is that the sight words are sorted by letter. That means you only have a few words on each card. That you can work on just those words at one time. Plus they are nice and big words for kids to see.<\/p>\n The words from the Dolch Second Grade Sight Words are: always, around, because, been, before, best, both, buy, call, cold, does, don’t, fast, first, five, found, gave, goes, green, its, made, many, off, pull, or, read, right, sing, sit. sleep. tell, their, these, those, upon, us, use, wash, which, why, wish, work, would, write, your.<\/p>\n We often take the wall cards and write the sight words on the card on lined paper<\/a>. My youngest loves to learn this way. She remembers a word better if she has written it out.<\/p>\n I printed our cards two per page on yellow cardstock<\/a> and laminated<\/a> them. I then put them on a ring<\/a>. <\/p>\n This allows us to take the cards on the go or easy storage when you don’t have tons of space. You can use cards like these and the sight words lists<\/a> to do an Easy Sight Word Evaluation<\/a>.<\/p>\n You can see the difference in the size of the cards when you print two pages at a time.<\/p>\n My girls love the smaller size because they can fit in their hands really easily.<\/p>\nWhat is a Sight Word?<\/h2>\n
