\n<\/div>\nThe Pencil Ten Frame Addition Card Printables are a great addition to the school printables<\/a> and addition printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n Addition ten frame cards are visual flashcards featuring 2-by-5 rectangular grids with 10 compartments. They display dots or counters to help children visually grasp numbers, add quantities, and understand base-10 relationships by combining parts to make ten<\/p>\n The pencil addition ten frame cards are a progression from using ten frame number printables<\/a>. It is taking something kids have used already and showing them how it works for math.<\/p>\n There are two types of ten frame addition cards. One of the cards has just the equations without the ten frame filled in. The second one has part of the equation filled in on the ten frame. This gives you a card to work with different levels of learning.<\/p>\n You have a matching recording sheet for all 12 ten frame cards. Plus you can use the pencil theme all year long.<\/p>\n The first type of card has the pencils filled out for part of the equation. We filled out the second part of the equation with unifix cubes<\/a>. We used yellow to match the pencils. You can see that the pencils and the unifix cubes match the equations for both parts.<\/p>\n The second type of card has the equation and nothing in the ten frame. This allows kids to build the equation on the ten frame. We use the unifix cubes<\/a> again to fill in the equation.<\/p>\n If you have the card laminated kids can write the answer on the cards with dry erase markers<\/a>.<\/p>\n I know that not everyone loves using the cards and having the parts to use with them. I have also made a worksheet that can be used with the cards. Each of the cards has numbers 1 to 12 on them that match up to the worksheet. It makes it a great math center activity.
