The CVC Interactive Word Books are a great addition to the cvc word printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n I know that not every child learns the same way, and not all teachers and homeschoolers look for the same thing. I wanted to add something beyond just an easy reader book. <\/p>\n I wanted to give them some way to interact with the CVC words while they read through the book.<\/p>\n I had five main goals when I start the CVC Interactive Word Books:<\/p>\n You are going to find a book for each of the follow CVC word families: -ab, -ad, -ag, -am, -an, -ap, -at, -ed, -eg, -en, -et, -id, -ig, -in, -ip, -it, -ob, -od, -og, -op, -ot, -ub, -um, and -un.<\/p>\n I broke those goals into the three main parts of the set: <\/p>\n You can buy all the 23 books for $20 at the link below.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n You start out with a fun sound it out page in the book for the CVC words. This allows them to sound out each letter of the CVC word with the dots at the bottom of each letter.<\/p>\n They can sound out the letters and then say the CVC word.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n The Trace the CVC word page focuses on the three or four CVC words that are in the book. You can trace the CVC words and color a picture of that CVC word.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n You find and color all the words that end with the current word family ending. You can see all the -at words were colored.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n Over the next few pages in the book, you have a focus word and that word in a sentence. You can color or trace the word. You could also underline the focus word in the sentences.<\/p>\n The first two pages in the reading section looks like these:<\/p>\n The second page has a different font coloring of the word.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n For the tracing pages they look like these two pages. If the book only has 3 words in it the last tracing page won’t be in the book.<\/p>\n The second page has a different font for tracing the word.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n Each of the books has a matching CVC worksheet. The worksheet will have the same sentences from the book. There is the option of tracing the CVC words or writing the CVC words in.<\/p>\n These work as a great review after reading the book or just using the worksheet by itself is also easy to do. The worksheets are no-prep which makes it easy to just print and use.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n These CVC themed reading strips match the CVC easy reader book and the CVC writing worksheet. It is a way kids can just run through the sentences from the book. The reading strips come in color and black and white. <\/p>\n I recommend laminating them to help them last longer. There is a circle in the corner to punch the cards and put them on a ring. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n You will have 23+ books with 3 to 4 focus words in each book. They will have matching worksheets and easy reader strips.
