There are so many great winter themes. We have been enjoying doing our fun winter activities. It has not been as snowy for us this year. <\/p>\n<p>We have been having fun doing snow painting and craft projects. It is fun to bring winter inside when you don&#8217;t have any or if you just miss it. I love how the story goes where you start with one small snowflake and end up with lots of snowflakes. It is always a fun one for us to read. We read it almost every year. We used cardstock to make sure they lasted. Plus if the stencil broke we could make another one really easy.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/blog\/1-2019\/watercoloroilpastelsnowflakes1.jpg\" alt=\"Watercolor &#038; Oil Pastel Snowflakes Painting - easy snowflake painting activity that many different ages can do together - 3Dinosaurs.com\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>How we made our paintings<\/h2>\n<p>We use the oil pastel crayon to color the snowflakes. You could do this any way you wanted. You could color over the top or trace inside the snowflake stencil. I think we did a mix of this for each of us. We found that tracing inside the stencil worked best.<\/p>\n<p>One of my girls needs fine motor skill work. I had her use a small broken piece of an oil pastel crayon for her coloring. I suggested using blue and purple colors. I just told them colors they decided how they wanted to paint the paper.
