This is so that when they see it they know it. It can help speed reading along.<\/p>\n Simply put these are words that are found common in reading. Some examples are: like, and, can, go here, and come. They might not be easy to decode or don\u2019t follow pattern simple sounding out patterns.<\/p>\n There are many different lists that you can get for sight words. Some of these sight word lists are Dolch Sight Word lists and Fry Sight Word Lists.<\/p>\n All of the words are sorting by beginning letter. This means that all the “a” words are on the same card. Plus they are big and makes them easy to read. <\/p>\n Each of the cards has from 1 to 6 words on each sight word wall card by letter. <\/p>\n The words from the Dolch Third Grade Sight Words are: about, better, bring, carry, clean, cut, done, draw, drink, eight, fall, far, full, got, grow, hold, hot, hurt, if, keep, kind, laugh, light, long, much, myself. never, only, own, pick, seven, shall, show, six, small, start, ten, today, together, try, warm.<\/p>\n I love using these cards for spelling and writing. I often pull out all the lacing letters<\/a> We do a lot of writing activities. I pull out the blank writing pages<\/a> and have them write out all the words on the list. You can have older kids write sentences for each of the words. I like to have them write the words and then do the sentences.<\/p>\n I printed our third grade sight word wall cards two per page on yellow cardstock<\/a> and laminated<\/a> them. I then put them on a ring<\/a>. <\/p>\n This allows us to take the cards on the go or easy storage when you don’t have tons of space. You can use cards like these and the sight words lists<\/a> to do an Easy Sight Word Evaluation<\/a>.<\/p>\n I love the small fit for smaller hands.
