There are so many math concepts that kids work on during the year. One of them around second grade is even and odd. I know that this can be a struggle for kids. I wanted to have more fun with exploring even and odd in the next few months.<\/p>\n

Today I have fun task cards for even and odd with fireflies! The firefly sorting activities is a get way to work on even and odd. it is great for spring and summer.<\/p>\n

This set is great for the spring and summer with the firefly bug theme. Kids can have loads of fun sorting and recording their even and odd numbers.<\/p>\n

There are 16 bugs for kids to sort with the option to record what they are sorting. There are 8 even and 8 odd that match up with the recording sheet.<\/p>\n

The set has a sorting mat that kids can use with the cards. It has two jars for even and odd. This gives them a great place to work on seeing the difference between the numbers.<\/p>\n

How we use these printables<\/h2>\n

I have them hold up each card when they are starting out and tell me if it is even or odd and why. This gives them a good verbal way to work learning.<\/p>\n

I love having kids sort the fireflies to the mat the first time they do this activity. I love the hands-on part of it. Plus the bugs are so cute.<\/p>\n

Then they can take the bugs they sorting and record them on the matching sheet. This allows them to see the place that they belong in. It also helps them work on writing numbers as well. There are 8 numbers for them to record in each column.<\/p>\n

Now if you have a child that is struggling with even and odd. I have a fun new help mat! These math help mats have been great to have. The mat shows what ending number are even and odd. They can build the last number in the chart and then see the even and odd and how it looks.<\/p>\n
