<\/div>\nThe CVC Rhyming Matching Card Printable is a great addition to the CVC printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n The CVC Rhyming Matching Card Printable is a part of my subscriber library. You can subscribe to the newsletter<\/a> and get access to the password there. You will find it in the CVC section on the subscriber freebie page. <\/p>\n CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don\u2019t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.<\/p>\n CVC Rhyming Matching Card Printable includes a set of cards: one with a picture and a matching card with a written word. They are both words with the same ending sound with different beginning sounds.<\/p>\n You can see an example of the CVC “a” words below. There are 27 sets of cards. You can have the CVC cards face up for beginners and down for more advanced learners. They match the cards that rhyme. This is a great way to work on sounding out words and finding same word ending.<\/p>\n You can use the CVC word family bookmarks<\/a> to help as well. They have lists of CVC words and go great with the cards.<\/p>\n Then after they finish the matching you can have them write down on paper the match cards they did. This is a good way to reinforce what they have been working on. I have lined paper<\/a> you can use to write the words on.<\/p>\n Another fun way to do this is to put both sets of cards on rings<\/a> and match them flip through the cards to find the match. I suggest keeping the number of cards to small sets rather than all of them.<\/p>\n If you want additional words to match to the pictures you can use the CVC word Family cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n You can see how we did two sets of words in our sorting. And you can have kids say all the words as they sort the cards.
