I love having different types of activities to work on reading. I love coloring pages, reading pages and more. But it is also nice to have some hands-on rhyming games as well.<\/p>\n

The CVC word family rhyming cards<\/a> were so much fun I thought I would do a few more of them.<\/p>\n

Today we have some CVCC word family rhyming matching cards. These are a fun way to build on reading skills.<\/p>\n

You can see an example of the CVCC words below. There are 20 sets of cards. Some of them hands similar last two letters which makes this a fun set of cards. I recommend printing on white cardstock<\/a>\"\" and laminating<\/a>\"\" the cards so that they last longer.<\/p>\n

How we used these CVCC Word Family Rhyming Matching Cards<\/h2>\n

I always do a matching game with cards. That makes them fun to use. Plus you get to mix up the cards you want to have them match. She put all the matches together and said both words.<\/p>\n

I like to add in a writing activity as well. This gives them a fun chance to remind themselves of the words they just matched and why they are rhyming. You can get the writing paper here<\/a>. We used the landscape version this time.<\/p>\n

I also love to use different resources together. So I pulled out the CVCC Word Family bookmarks<\/a> and had her find the words on the bookmark and then read the list of words. It is a great review of the words plus makes sure you can find both words on the list.<\/p>\n

Another fun activity with these cards is to put the same word ending together. So you can put all those that end in “ck” together. I put the two sets of cards on rings<\/a>\"\". They then flip through the cards to match the correct ending.<\/p>\n
