<\/a><\/div>\nThe Jingle Bells Ten Frame Card Printable is a great addition to the Christmas printables<\/a> on the site.<\/p>\n Ten frame counting is a math learning tool. It uses a card or grid with 10 boxes arranged in two rows of five. Students place small items or dots inside the boxes to count, show numbers, and see how numbers relate to 5 and 10.<\/p>\n These could be blank ten frame boxes or filled out ten frame boxes for one-to-one correspondence. <\/p>\n Each of the jingle bell ten cards has two options. You have the ten frame card fill out to match the number and you have the ten frame blank so they can fill out the number. <\/p>\n This is a great sensory activity for kids to do. And we love the book Jingle Bells<\/a> by Susan Jeffers. But I wanted to change things up so we have a fun ten frame activity with bells!<\/p>\n These are just a few of the items we used with these ten frame cards. You can always use what you have on hands-on change it up to make it fun.<\/p>\n You are going to see how we prepare and have used the jingle bell ten frame cards.<\/p>\n I recommend printing on cardstock<\/a> and laminating<\/a> if you plan to use the cards a lot.<\/p>\n I love to show every now and then how I set up the activity. You can see that I put the cards in a stack and give several jingle bells<\/a>. You can give only 10 bells or more than ten. I have a mix of bells and to match some of the numbers.<\/p>\n After you have your activity set up you have them do their counting. You can see where we matched the color and number of the jingle bells<\/a>. This gets color matching and counting at the same time. We had fun ringing all the bells.<\/p>\n Another way to do this is to use clear glass gems<\/a> and cover the pictures of the bells. This allows you to see the bells and count at the same time.<\/p>\n Now if you love the idea of the cards but do want to use jingle bells you don’t have to! You can always use any hands-on item. I always keep unifix cubes<\/a> around for these cards.
